Jules Pascin was Bulgarian painter. During World War I, he worked in the United States, but he mostly painted in Paris, where he was strongly identified with the Modernist movement and the artistic circles of Montparnasse. His most notable works are thinly painted, delicately toned, ironic studies of women; he also painted portraits and a series of large-scale biblical and mythological scenes.
